The Atlanta Flames were founded in 1972 as part of the NHL’s expansion into the southern United States. The team was named after the burning of Atlanta during the American Civil War, a reference that shaped both its name and flaming “A” logo. Playing in a non-traditional hockey market, the Flames became an early example of the league’s attempt to grow the sport beyond its northern base. Despite competitive teams and strong individual players, the franchise struggled with attendance and financial stability. In 1980, the team relocated to Calgary, where it eventually became one of the NHL’s most successful franchises — making Atlanta Flames history a key part of Calgary’s identity.

A Length

Place the end of a measuring tape beside the collar at the top of the garment (high point shoulder). Pull the tape to the bottom of the item.

B Width

Place the end of a measuring tape at one side of the chest area and pull the tape across to the other side of the product.

C Sleeve length

Place the end of a measuring tape at the center back of the collar, then pull the tape along the top seam of the sleeve. When you get to the shoulder hold the tape in place at the shoulder and continue to pull down the sleeve until you reach the hem of the sleeve.
